Lamlash House was pleased to be associated with the Robert Tannahill Federation Bicentenary concert which took place at the Paisley Arts Centre on 21 May 2010.
The world famous (and world travelled) Tannahill Weavers played to an enthusiastic capacity audience on Friday evening and were well received as a fitting remembrance of the work of Paisley bard Robert Tannahill. The concert was attended by locals and far-travelled individuals including descendants of the Tannahill family.
By the end of 2010, the Tannahill Weavers will have performed at over 60 venues worldwide from Paisley to Portland Oregon and from Montrose to Minneapolis and it is hoped that the band will return to Paisley in the future as part of a series of annual recurring events.
Prior to the concert, Davey Mullen, President of the Robert Tannahill Federation said "I see this event as an opportunity for us to commemorate Robert Tannahill and celebrate the wonderful songs and poems that Paisley's premier poet contributed to Paisley's pride and Scotland's cultural heritage".
